11. Nutella Cupcakes with Chocolate Topping

Of course, being crazy and obsessed with baking, I did a special request from the bride to be.

Baked her my special Nutella Cupcakes with Chocolate Topping!

Testing my own creativity in decorating and presenting the cupcakes! :)

TEN. The wedding bells.

A cousin of mine just got engaged to a wonderful man. :)

So, as a cousin, we are pretty close to each other, my sister and I baked some goodies for her as a gift!

First and foremost, we baked Milo Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Here are the ingredients:

  • 400 grams of Self Raising Flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 vanilla powder
  • 250 grams of butter
  • 5 ounce of sugar powder
  • 2 cups of Milo
  • 1 packet of Hershey's chocolate chip

Beat the butter, sugar and vanilla powder in a big bowl. Next, add the egg and beat the mixture again.

Add in the bicarbonate soda and cream of tartar to the mixture. Mix well and next, add the milo and flour.

Once you get the mixture, as shown above, add in the chocolate chip and mix evenly.

You can bake it like any other normal cookies but for the special occasion, we made the cookies like this! And you will see why later. :)

Bake the cookies in the oven for 15 minutes or so. Oven temperature should be 150 degree!

We even added the chocolate topping.

You just need:

  • Semi sweet chocolate bar
  • Shortening
In saucepan, heat the shortening in low heat. Once the shortening melted, add in the chocolate bar and stir the mixture until smooth.

Using a tablespoon, scoop up the chocolate mixture and pour it on the cookies, enough to cover the top of the cookies.

As for the finishing touch, sprinkle some decorations! Or, eat it just like that!

NINE. 5 awesome minute of baking!

Was just browsing through the internet like any other people would do when they are bored. I found this recipe by chance!

As I mentioned that I was feeling bored and not to forget hungry for some snacks, I decided to try this recipe.

As mentioned in the recipe, the cake is to be bake in a cup but in my case, I have the phobia to put a glass in the microwave, so I used a Tupperware instead. So I whipped up all the ingredients mentioned, patiently waited for 2.5 minutes, TADA!

It is absolutely delicious! My siblings loved it and even asked for more.

I must say that this recipe is convenient and fast to make when you're feeling hungry AND lazy.

Do try it with vanilla ice-cream and hell lots of whipped cream! It will definitely be more delicious!

SIX. Halal Ben&Jerry's!

I am as happy as you are! (Maybe. Hehe!)

Apparently, I was reading an article from a friend's blog and I saw a link which sent me directly to heaven! Not literally, of course!

Upon reading the article, I was ecstatic to know that B&J have finally produced Halal products! As you can see in the picture, the Halal logo is from IFANCA. I bet some of us do not know who IFANCA is ...

IFANCA the leading Halal-food certification organization in North America. Halal certification gives companies access to Muslim consumers. IFANCA's Halal Symbol (the Crescent 'M') helps Muslims in choosing their goods, assured that what they are buying is Halal without doubt.

IFANCA has been recognized and endorsed by the following religious and governmental organizations:
  • Malaysian Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM)
  • Central Islamic Committee office of Thailand
  • Majelis Ulama Indonesia (M.U.I.)
  • Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (M.U.I.S.)
  • Muslim World League, Saudi Arabia
  • USDA/FSIS International Programs
  • United Aram Emirates (GSM)
  • IFANCA is a founding and sustaining member of the World Halal Council
Want to find out more? http://www.ifanca.org/about/

As stated in the blog, this person did her research and received an email...

Yes, there are some Ben & Jerry's Halal products out there currently. The packages you saw recently are some of the 10 Halal certified flavors (please see attached list for the full flavors). We have been working towards a Halal certificate for our factory in Vermont, USA and we received it some time ago.

Not all of our packages have the stamp on them for the following reasons:
Our flavor gurus will be changing the formulas for some of our moovelicious flavors so that it can be fully Halal and hence this will take a while for these flavors to be perfected.

Our packaging is pre manufactured and hence it takes a while for the new packaging with the Halal stamp to take effect for consumers.

Consumers can expect about 4 to 5 new Halal flavors in the market a year. We can't wait for all the flavors to be fully certified Halal either! If you have any more questions, please feel free to send them my way. ..."

Ok so the 10 HALAL flavours are:
1)A Cookie Affair
2)Chocolate Fudge Brownie
3)Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
4)Chunky Monkey
5)Half - Baked
6)New York Super Fudge Chunk
7)Phish Food
8)Strawberry Cheesecake
9)Triple Caramel Chunk
10)Vanilla
Important note: These HALAL flavours can be bought at Ben and Jerry's ice-cream scoop shops but do buy them in PINTS (already packed by the Vermont Factory with HALAL logo) or u can buy them in the supermarkets. And do note that these ICE-CREAM scoops shops are NOT-HALAL certified so the cones, and all the wafery additions are not advisable to be consumed cos there is no Halal-certification for that. And some flavours in the branches are not yet HALAL-certified (read the above email properly),so the scoops and others are kinda questionable. If confused, just purchase them from the supermarkets (ensure HALAL logo is present).

If you are on quest to find Halal food all around the world, do read the blog! http://www.worldhalalquest.com/

My mission for the day is, find B&J Chocolate Fudge Brownie! :)

FIVE. Inspired Halal Bakery

Upon hearing the news, I'm glad there's another Halal bakery in Singapore. Newly launched at Tampines, this Halal bakery is owned by a lady, Roszilah M. Nor.

Heiraz is founded in 2004 as a home-based bakery and its still running after all these years!

Looking through their facebook page, Heiraz mentioned that they run baking workshops for all ages. You'll get to learn different kinds of baking and skills through this workshop. Do note that prices for the workshop depends and each workshop's agenda will be different.

Do check out their facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/heiraz

I'm inspired by Miss Roszilah's achievements and her determination throughout the years. Who knows, I might open up my own bakery! :)

And do visit her bakery! It's located at, Blk 929 Tampines Street 91 - Opposite Eash View Primary!

Hopefully, in time to come, more Halal bakery will open in Singapore!

THREE. 70% done painting!

First and foremost, sorry that I did not update the blog as promised. I was too tired to even open my eyes after the painting session!

Anyway, here's my progress for this current painting. After layers and layers of paint, I can finally say it's 70% done!

I'm trying to achieve the different effects of the different painting techniques which will result in different textures. So far for this current painting, there are 4 techniques used for different parts. Each part has its own story and purpose, which I will reveal once I'm totally done with the painting.

So far, I'm proud at my progress for this painting!

Hwaiting to me! (hwaiting - a form of encouragement in Korean!)

Just so you know, someday I will have my own art gallery! :)

TWO. Here comes the painting day!

So here is the painting that I've been working on so far. I've been busy with work that I could not find the time to do some painting!

Finally, the day is here today and I'm all excited to finish this painting and start a new one!

Hell lots of ideas in my pea size brain!

Let's see what I'll achieve in the next 6 hours!
